Miscellaneous F.A.I.T.H. ACTIVITIES AND CLASSES

Book It: This is a national reading incentive program sponsored by Pizza Hut for students in grades K-6. The program takes place annually from October through March. Each home school teacher sets a monthly goal for their student to earn a certificate for a personal pan pizza (Certificates need to be redeemed within 30 days). We do not have a Book It coordinator this year. You can request your certificates online at http:// www.bookitprogram.com/enrollment/homeschool.asp or by calling 1-800-426-6548.

Box Tops for Education: Please clip and save the "Boxtops for Education" coupons found on the packages of many General Mills products. F.A.I.T.H. will receive $.10 for each boxtop, to be used for Teens of FAITH. expenses. For a complete listing of products, go to www.boxtopsforeducation.com. Turn them in by October 15 and March 15 to Laurie Medina, 7835 Cornflower Commons Drive, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Graduation: The F.A.I.T.H. home school group now sponsors a graduation ceremony for families who are members of F.A.I.T.H. Parents are required to be a part of this process by attending monthly meetings to plan the ceremony. Graduates are also encouraged to attend. Other requirements include:

  • Graduate must have been home schooled for at least the last three years of high school.
  • Families must be members of F.A.I.T.H. for at least two years. By September 30th, families must state intent to graduate with F.A.I.T.H.

Library Appreciation Week: Show support for faithful librarians. The fourth week of September is our official CHEA Appreciation Week. During the week of Monday, September 22nd through September 26th, please take cards, goodies and big “Thank You’s!” to your local librarians during that week to show how much home schoolers appreciate all they do for us.

New Members Booth at Picnic: In an effort to welcome and become acquainted with new members to F.A.I.T.H., we will have a designated area at our fall kick-off picnic where we will meet and greet new mem-bers as well as anyone who is interested in joining our support group. Please encourage new or interested families to seek us out.

Welcome Committee: The goal of this committee is to welcome and help new members to our support group. If you know of someone who needs to be contacted, please contact Dana Summerlin or Gerry Barker.
