Job Descriptions

In order for F.A.I.T.H. to run smoothly each member family is required to have a job. 

 

First year member families are exempt from the job requirement.

 

Before clicking on the online application link at the bottom of the page, please choose FOUR of the F.A.I.T.H. jobs listed below.  You will be required to enter the title of your four job choices in your preference order on the application.  You will not have to do four jobs, but the board needs you know your preferences in the event more than one person chooses the same job.  A brief description of each job is described below.  For a more detailed description click on the link to the job title.

 

1.  Director - Oversees operation of the group to encourage, support, and be available to the board members and coordinators of activities.

 

2.  Assistant Director/Secretary - Assists director as needed.

 

3.  Board Member - Attends board meetings and sees to the business of the group.

 

4.  Treasurer - Keeps the acounting of all  F.A.I.T.H. monies.  Attends board meetings as needed.  Must have computer, email and be able to process PayPal receipts.

 

5.  FAITHCharlotte and FAITHChat Email Coordinator - Sends emails to the FAITHCharlotte group and monitors the FAITHChat discussion group.

 

6.  Member Account Manager for the www.ncfaith.com website -  Manages member accounts, sends account apporoved emails and notifies various job holders of new members.  In general, this is a twice a year job.  Requires a computer, email, and some familiarity with editing webpages.  Does NOT require programming skills.  Training will be provided.

 

7.  Picnic Coordinator for New Member Booth - Plans and carries out a booth at the fall picnic where new members will be greeted and made welcome.  One time job in August.

 

8. Welcome Committee - Contacts new F.A.I.T.H. members and offers support and encouragement.

 

9.  Webmaster for the www.ncfaith.com website - Makes major modifications to the heirarchy of the www.ncfaith.com website.  Requires extensive familiarity with computers and programming.

 

10.  Web Assistant/Editor for the www.ncfaith.com website. -  Edits webpages to include the changes verified and submitted by the Homeschool Support Organization Proofreader, Community Resources Proofreader, and Public Officials Proofreader.  Requires familiarity with computers and a little familiarity with webpage editing.  Training will be provided.  In general a once a year job.

 

11.  Homeschool Support Organizations Proofreader - One time job in early summer to verify links, phone numbers and other data on the Homeschool Support Organizations pages are current and up to date. 

 

12.  Community Resources Proofreader - One time job in early summer to verif links, phone numbers and other data on the Community Resources pages on the www.ncfaith.com website are current and up to date.

 

13.  Public Officials Page Proofreader - Once or twice (on election years) a year job to verify links, phone numbers and other data on the Public Officials page are current and up to date.

 

14.  NCHE/CHEA Contact Person - Contacts NCHE, CHEA and Department of Non-public education to inform them you are the contact person for new or prospective homeschoolers in the area.  Must have email and be available to receive and return calls within 36 hours.

 

15.  Teens of F.A.I.T.H. Director - Oversees the TOF board and adult committee to plan and oversee monthly activities for the teens.

 

16.  Teens of F.A.I.T.H. Committee - Adult advisory committee that assists teens as they plan activities for the T.O.F.


17.  Teens of F.A.I.T.H. Email Coordinator - Adult on the TOF Committee who oversees the teen responsible for sending emails about upcoming TOF events and activities.

 

18. Graduation Chair Person - Facilitates 4-6 meetings of parents and graduates for the F.A.I.T.H. graduation cremony.

 

19.  Boy Scout Job - Fullfills the responsibilities of a BSA position for a F.A.I.T.H. sponsored Boy Scout Unit.

 

20.   Girl Scout Job - Fullfills the responsibilities of a GSA position for a F.A.I.T.H. sponsored Girl Scout group.

 

21.  Venturing Job- Fullfills the responsibilities for a F.A.I.T.H. sponsored Venturing group.

 

22.  Clothing & Toy Exchange Coordinator - Sets up clothing and toy exchanges once or twice a year.

 

23.  Box Tops for Education Coordinator - Distrubutes envelopes for Box Tops and list of eligible produtcts at fall picnic, collects boxtops and mails them to appropriate address in October and February.

 

24.  Play Day Coordinator - Plan and organize park play days.

 

25.  Cultural and Special Events Coordinator - Plans and organizes an activity such as opera, theater, or ballet.  Sends notices to the FAITHCharlotte email coordinator in a timely manner.

 

26. World's Fair Coordinator - Helps plan and organize a "World's Fair" where 4 or more families each respresent a different country displaying clothing, souveniers, flag, foods etc. from their prospective country.

 

27.  Class, Club or Other Original Idea - (Plan and offer some class or service to the group.)
